I am a front desk clerk at a local hotel. I don’t work in a big city or anything, so it is very unusual for us to have guests that speak other languages. Today, I got a call from a French woman.

She asked me to buy her a French dictionary in which she call look up English words and see the French word that is equivalent to it and vice versa.

I had bought the book on my lunch break. The dictionary came in handy. I grabbed my purse, removed the book, looked up some of the words she was saying, and figured out what they meant.
