I’m looking after my friend’s horses while he’s out of town next weekend. It seems like a big job and there’s a lot to remember, but it should be a great learning experience for me. I’m already somewhat familiar with handling the horses, and I’ve been spending time there this week learning how to care for them properly. The biggest challenge is remembering how to look after the equipment. For example, the horses’ English saddles need to be kept dry, protected from the elements, and safe from dust. Tomorrow my friend is going to show me how to clean them on the saddle rack. He says it’s easy and I’ll get the hang of it quickly. I’m sure it will be fine…it’s just overwhelming to be bombarded with so much information at once. But, I’m happy to be able to help out!
