My husband and I were just trying to get by. We lived paycheck to paycheck. I saw my friends with kids had Texas 529 Savings Plans for their kids, and really wanted to have the same thing for my kids. I sat my husband down and we went through our finances and figured out that if I got a job working on the weekends, then we would be able to get one for our kids. It is worth it. I don’t want our children to have to live paycheck to paycheck because they can’t get good jobs like my husband and I.
