Most people already know what a gift voucher is but if you don’t, you’re in the right place to learn. A gift voucher is a type of scrip. If you don’t know what a scrip is, I’ll explain that too. A scrip is a understanding, often written, that something is owed. In case of a gift voucher, it means that a certain value of products is owed to the person who owns the gift voucher. So a gift voucher is a scrip which is purchased from a retailer then given as a gift to another party. The third party is now able to cash-in their gift voucher for goods provided by the voucher issuer.
