Identity theft is a crime which many people forget about, because it doesn’t happen to them. Even with all of the ads all over the TV advertising for companies like Lifelock, these people dismiss the whole notion, as if nothing bad could ever happen to them. This is a horrible mistake, as identity theft and fraud protection is something everyone should consider, if you value your credit. 

Because of the way identity thieves work, they can sometimes have days or even months to work in which to ruin your credit. While your credit may be ruined within a few days or months, it can sometimes take years to wipe these things from your records.
