Fuad El-Hibri: A Pioneer in Pharmaceuticals
A few years ago, during the initial aftermath of the September 11th attacks on America that took thousands of lives, the world was literally rocked to its heels; not only because of the brazenness and unsuspecting nature of the crimes, but because of the following rash of biologically-focused attacks — primarily Anthrax. Working in the background, however, was the brilliant mind of Mr. Fuad El-Hibri, whose pharmaceutical company at the time developed and manufactured the lone Anthrax vaccine. In fact, Mr. El-Hibri’s company, Emergent BioSolutions Inc. still stands as the only manufacturer of an Anthrax vaccine approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
