Not long after the whole Christmas present fiasco, my dad sat down with my husband and I, and had us talk everything out.  It turned out that my husband got the cubic zirconia earrings because he thought that they were the most beautiful thing in the store, not because they were cheap.  My dad explained how a woman can never really trust that a guy will know what he is doing when he is buying jewelry.  I knew that he was right, but I was still upset.  I really wanted to get those diamond earrings from the shop around the corner!
